Name Origin

The word Carrera is Spanish in origin meaning “race”. For more than 40 years, the word Carrera has adopted its own definition, and has been a synonym for action, speed, and excitement at a top level. At Carrera Construction, we value our name, and vow to perform for you, and all of our customers, at the highest level possible.

Company History

Carrera Construction was established in 1988 as a Design / Build General Contractor specializing in restaurants, commercial, industrial, multi family and retail projects within a 250 mile radius of Greater Cincinnati. Our team of construction professionals is dedicated to quality in every aspect of work. We are thoroughly experienced in new construction, additions, tenant finish and renovations of existing buildings. Carrera Construction was incorporated in 1988 in Kentucky and is presently located at 2409 Spring Grove Avenue in Cincinnati, Ohio. With a large part of our work being negotiated for repeat clients on an “Open Book” basis, we also bid and have had success with many “Plan and Spec” Private and Public Sector Projects. We are fully bonded when required by a Triple A rated bonding company. We have an unblemished safety record and an established Safety Program. All of our employees are drug tested and fully OSHA trained. We are fortunate that we have never experienced a job site accident resulting in injury or loss of time.

We strive to excel at every opportunity and when problems do occur, we promptly resolve them. Our goal is 100% customer satisfaction which creates repeat clients and favorable recommendations for new ones. Customer service is our number one priority whether installing a door for a repeat client or developing a new office building, an industrial facility or a shopping center for a new customer. “We promise less and deliver more”.

Benjamin Ransick, President, Owner
Ben has over 20 years of experience in the industry, and has been employed by Carrera since 2013. He possesses in depth knowledge of fast paced tenant improvement projects, make ready projects, new construction, facility repairs, concrete, and many other industry related items including value engineering. He values himself on pride, commitment, and perfection while ultimately seeking a high level of customer satisfaction.

Ed Vicars, Senior Project Manager
Ed has over thirty years of management and construction experience. His focus on customer satisfaction is demonstrated in his ability to solve problems and overcome obstacles. Utilizing strong communication and organizational skill he is able to consistently deliver projects "on time" and "within budget". This is just another reason why Carrera Construction enjoys repeat customers business and high customer referrals.

Ben Reinier, Project Manager
Ben was born and raised in a family owned construction business.  He worked through school and college until ultimately becoming GM of that business.  Seeking different opportunity, he decided to venture to the commercial construction industry, and did so for 10 years before deciding to join Carrera Construction.  Ben’s experience has taught him the importance, timeliness, and quality of every project.  He has a true passion for the construction business, and enjoys developing personable relationships while being driven to achieve total customer satisfaction.

Scot Schwertman, Project Manager
Scot has 10 years of experience in the industry, and has been with Carrera since 2019. His prior experience with facility repairs, tenant improvement projects and MEP upgrades has provided him with the firsthand knowledge of what customers expect in quality, timeliness and responsiveness.

Terri Thompson, Office Manager
Terri has been employed by Carrera Construction in the Office Management role since 1999. Her main duties in addition to general administration are accounts payable, answering the telephone, greeting customers and assistance in sub contractor bidding.

Tom Mann, Superintendent
Tom has over thirty years experience in the general construction industry and has been employed as a project superintendent with Carrera Construction since 1997. Tom is also a highly skilled carpenter and has been involved in all aspects of construction throughout his career.

Jason Fury, Superintendent
Jason has over 17 years of experience in commercial construction and has been with Carrera Construction since 2014. Jason is one of our "traveling" superintendents to serve our repeat clients for out of town projects.  He possesses many construction skills and have proven success at completing fast paced and complicated projects.

Mark Ruff, Superintendent
Mark has over 10 years of experience in many types of commercial construction including insurance work and has been with Carrera Construction since 2015. Mark is well rounded in all facets of hand on construction, and has proven success at completing fast paced and complicated projects.

Chad Whitney, Superintendent
Chad Whitney started with Carrera Construction in 2019 as a superintendent. He began his career in the industrial construction business over 20 years ago. Chad has had many accomplishments in his career including supervising large complex projects that were completed on budget and on time. He has proven success in working closely with the Carrera clients to provide the highest level of service and client satisfaction.

Jake Flannery, Superintendent
Jake started with Carrera Construction in 2018. And has 5 years of related experience. After finishing the first half of his Construction Management Degree, Carrera took him in as a co-op to teach him all aspects of the commercial construction business. Jake continues to be on site daily absorbing all facets of construction while implementing his learned skills and education.

Nick Ransick, Superintendent
Nick Ransick started with Carrera Construction in 2019 as a superintendent. He brings 15 years of experience in residential construction to the company. He is experienced in all aspects of residential construction including framing, plumbing, trim carpentry and renovations. Nick works hard to achieve all tasks he is presented with in an efficient and professional manner.
